5 Tips To Update Your Skin Care Routine This Fall

There’s something special about Fall. I have always felt too peaceful (ignoring the dreadful almost eight months of winters ready to set in). It’s not too cold but not too hot either, and everywhere you look you see breathtaking shades of reds and gold!

Our summer skin care revolved around oil control. As the weather changes and the days get shorter and cooler, it’s time to change your skincare routine too and think about keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized.

Follow these five tips to enter into fall with beauty and grace.

Summer skin can handle harsh cleansers. But when fall sets in a switch to creamy/oil based formulas that not just removes the makeup gently but also leaves skin with an extra layer of moisture goes a long way.

My skin gets worse during colder season. Staying in too much heat and the atmosphere being less humid my pores get clogged easily, and my breakout gets worse leaving dark spots which take good six months to go away. The trick to starting the season with a refreshed looking skin lies in exfoliation. Yes, you read it right. Exfoliation helps take away the summer residue, salt water and chlorine may have left your skin dry and flaky. Use an oil based body scrub. Exfoliate the entire body on a weekly basis, and treat yourself to at least one good facial to start the season polished and smooth.

The only thing to be said about toners is: Ditch the alcohol-based toners. They will only dry out your face making it prone to wrinkles and fine lines. Choose a product that helps clean and disinfect your skin without stripping the essential oils in the process.

Focus on locking in the moisture to keep your skin glowing. Opt for a hydrating serum to layer underneath your day cream, giving extra hydration during the colder months. Use an ultra-hydrating mask once a week.

Don’t forget the lips

Fall is the time when the bold red and orange statement lip colors come out to play, and there is nothing that can look more horrid than dry and flaky lips. Prevent those dry, chapped lips and use a natural ingredient lip balm to get kissable pout all throughout fall.
